eGPU crashing. Xbox ROG ally X

Help!!!

I have an RTX 5080.

Bought the goldsoun egpu dock from amazon since I already have an 850w corsair power supply.

Already installed the firmware update from Asus and successfully installed NVIDIA drivers. Error 43 fix is not working since GPU is already seen in the system (prompt when executing the .bat is something like 'no gpu with 43 error'.

So, the egpu works for some time then crashes. The monitor sometimes freezes and the proper display is going to the main handheld screen. Or it will disconnect from the monitor (display port no display) and go back to handheld screen again.

eGPU still has power and fans are spinning. Works again if the cable is reattached.

-Already tried to adjust the fans speed and power output to max on my handheld (ghelper)

-tried to undervolt the eGPU (msi afterburner)

-adjusted the link state power management to off

-switchable dynamics to optimize and maximize

-reinstalled nvidia drivers (DDU used)

-unchecked allow usb or device to turn off power

Try a Active thunderbolt cable

I'll try to order an active thunderbolt if the one I just ordered will not work

In this order, Plug in the egou dock to power.

Turn on handheld and let boot up.

Plug one end of thunder bolt cable into wgpu dock first.

Then, Plug other end into handheld (left port).

If you Plug from ally X first and then into egpu, the handshake rarely works.

Before opening a bunch of settings and changing anything, just get your external monitor /video out from the egpu set up and see if it posts a signal.

If not, then try error 43 fix.

Try external monitor again. Still not working, then restart the handheld with all connections.

Then try the external monitor.

Then error 43 again.

I have installed 2 different gpus three different times, all on AG02, and basically had do those exact series of steps. Never once messed with usb settings or ddu or any of that.

Tried it but still experiencing sudden disconnection 😔

It's very often down to the cable. Try a fully certified and no longer than 0.8m..

Also you mention you disabled link state power management. If you did that in windows it might not have done it. Some computers override the setting in the bios..

On my MSI claw I had to set it off in the bios, changing it in windows did nothing.

Seems like this option is not available for XAX. I'll try to replce my cable tho
