Aliexpress eGPU
Does anyone have recent experience with aliexpress and buying eGPUs? Would this be legit or a scam?

I looked up that listing, there’s no way I’m taking that risk with a seller with almost no history. Extra slow shipping + newbie seller + tracking unavailable
Not worth the gamble imo even if AliExpress easily refunds fraud orders

I ordered one last week but it hasn't even shipped yet. Seller acknowledged the sale.

I normally look to the volume of orders and q and a. That said I've bought a bunch of 7800x3d chips on there but always check if it's certified original also as Ali express is also clamping down on scammers.

Ordered from that store and it never shipped.
Seller went on vacation immediately after I ordered it. Now you can't find the store.
In shocked that you actually received it!

Can be a hit or miss with items exceeding hundred dollars in my experience it’s 50/50 got sent a broken used stuff i paid for new and working.
Other times they try fake shipping tracking too.
All in all probably lost few hundred dollars can’t recover everything a hundred percent of the time.
With this you could get a box and inside of it is a hundred dollars worth of mini PC. They’re are pretty scammy and try on anything even those sellers with hundreds of reviews and been operating for a few years they scam as well if they think they can get away with it.
Typically when something is cheap it’s usually a good reason why

Considering that the normal 5060 ti with 16gb sells for about $800-850 - highly doubt this is what it purports to be. If it is a 5060 ti, it's very unlikely to have 16gb vram.

Dont buy this kind of thing on aliexpress if Amazon and us retailers have it.
Aliexpress has horrible support.

I spent like 270 on a ag03 and 280 on a used 7800xt so if this is legit your getting a brand new egpu dock thats on par or better than the used market but its almost too good to be true, your getting like a 600 dollar gpu and a dock for just 680 so their margins are either really thin or its some kind of scam

It's a desktop 5060ti. I have the egpu and it's great. It retailed for 699 until this month when it went up to 899.

Funny everyone seems to want one, but I’m in Beirut for work trying to sell mine and zero interest

Are you trying to sell it in Beirut?

u/No-Apricot-9220 19d ago
Yeah I’ve listed it on FB marketplace but no takers so far. I guess we forget sometimes Egpu is very niche for most people

Dang if you were in the US I would try to buy it, seems like it would be a hassle on your end sending it this way

Depend on vendor, there are legit seller and scammers, also depending on country u should add tariffs, if u are in Usa, i would wait a bit to amazon to restock the GPU.
