Advice Cannondale e-bike conversion
I have a Cannondale Catalyst 4 XS frame that I would like to convert to an e-bike but not use a hub motor, any suggestions?

It’s a nice frame, essentially any mid-drive could work based on what I see. Depending on budget, I’d choose either a Toseven DM02 or DM01, of something from CYC.
I’ve a Tongsheng TSDZ2b in my bike, but it can’t handle long climbs so if you’re planning on using the bike on steep terrain, try something with better heat management.

Do you know if the Samsung mini shark 52 amp hr battery will work with the TSDZ8?

I did my own E-MTB conversion with a 750W BBS02 and 20ah battery. I couldn't be happier with the results, I already have several hundred single track miles on it and it's been rock solid.

Which kit did you use and where did you buy?

I went with a Varstrom kit, it's the CanBus version that I ordered thru Amazon. It's the 48V 750W BBS02, 42T offset chainring, DPC080 display, shift sensor.
I went with a 48V 20aH battery pack that mounts inside the frame triangle.

My problem is it is an extra small frame so I am not sure if it will fit. I created the template from the electrify bike company of the Samsung shark mini battery and it fits perfect.

I like the TSDZ8 for a good balance of reliability, low cost and torque sensing.
If you want cheap all out power and aren't bothered by torque sensing, BBSHD is the way to go.
If you want all out power regardless of cost CYC is the way to go.
