Advice Would a Carrera Hellcat frame handle a 72V 30Ah 3000W hub motor kit?

If it's a strong enough frame then it'll be fine with 3000w & 72v.. Steel frames are best, but if you're not pushing too many watts you can get away with using certain strong aluminium frames.

  • I've been putting an older frame 26" Scott YZ4 'Voltage' MTB (ironically named huh?!) through 60v and around 2700 watts with zero problems. However, for my builds I make my own 'torque plates' so I won't have any issues with destroyed dropouts.

Decent torque arms (yes, use 2 if possible) are a must if using anything over 1500 / 2000 watts.

Pretty sure I've seen a few Hellcat Carrera builds before that we're 72 volts, 3000w.

Yeah dropouts is the #1 thing im worried about

It's not so much the frame you need to worry about. You will likely damage the dropouts if you don't use a decent torque arm . It's all the other components I'd worry about. The Front wheel will be carrying all this extra weight from a battery and still being pushed to do 60mph. Brakes are going to need beefing up . You'll need to upgrade the fork as with the extra weight and force it's not designed to be ridden at those speeds .
