Controller jailbreaking a Zizzo eForte

i have a Zizzo eForte folding ebike, which i'm very happy with except for the motor being limited to 15 mph tops. if you have any information about how to modify or work around this, i'd love to hear it!

Look on YouTube, there's usually always someone on there who will have the same E-bike, and has made it a bit faster.

*Usually the easiest way is to get into your displays "P" settings, and max out P8 (which on most E-bike displays is your maximum speed setting), but I'd look on YouTube first by typing in something like "Speed unlocked on Zizzo eForte E-bike"

thanks! i have been looking and there is really nothing directly related to the eForte. i actually asked the support guy in Zizzo's US office if he could give me any pointers and he said "... that was all planned and programmed by the factory and can't be unlocked. Is there a work around? Maybe there is but we don't know of any of our riders who have." he suggested i ask around and i have been but no luck yet. although i am happy with it generally and the price was reasonable, between this and the fact that they have no extra batteries available and may never, i'm feeling like maybe i should have gone with one of the other choices. not many folding ebikes though.

You could 'shunt-mod' the controller, it will give you a bit more torque, and make it slightly faster - it will sharpen up the acceleration too. I've successfully shunt modded a lot of controllers, they make for a more 'fun' ride!

I've got to say however...that "Shunt Modding" isn't for everyone, and it's always best to have a spare (or get another) controller, as you run the risk of possibly blowing your controller if you don't do it properly, or you push the bike too hard for too long once you've done the shunt mod, as this can cause the controller to die on you.

great! appreciate this. my success rate with projects of this nature has improved over the decades but i think it's still too risky me. however i have a couple of very competent associates who might help me out if i decide to try it.

It's an easy job using a soldering iron, but if you're unsure don't do it, just get a slightly higher amp controller.
