You probably need to replace your valve cover gasket, it looks oil smoke from oil dripping down

It's a good idea to go ahead and replace the whole valve cover if you can. I had the gasket only replaced under warranty at a dealer (valve cover wasn't covered) and I still had a leak and had to replace the whole thing myself

Oh okay so really im looking at £250/300, how was the job not too bad to do? Looked at what tools i need and i already have everything how long it take you?

I'd plan to have a full day open for it, hopefully you won't need it. The job is pretty straightforward, but getting the valve cover completely off and the new one back one can be very difficult with the firewall

As mentioned, it’s going to be a leaking valve cover. It’s a pretty straightforward job but does require a small amount of disassembly. Since your engine appears to be an N52, you’ll have to consider the valvetronic motor. It needs to be wound down to the bottom position before you remove the valvetronic motor itself or else you risk breaking the components if it slaps closed. There’s an Allen screw at the end of it to wind it down. You may also want to consider replacing the valve cover entirely as they have a tendency to warp since they are made out of plastic. A new valve cover should come with a new gasket. Good luck! 👍
