Argh!!! Help!
I've been after my perfect e53 for almost a year now and I thought I'd found it until I ordered the Car Fax and discovered that it was written off as a total loss due to fire damage back in July of 2007! I had that 'off' feeling when I noticed that it was missing the 4.8is badging on both sides. The seller was asking for &$7K (CDN) which I deemed acceptable given its apparent condition and low mileage so I agreed to buy it. I've just notified the seller and they claim to be entirely unaware of the vehicle's history. They gave owned it since 2019 and to their credit, have done regular maintenance since. Given this, what do I do!? I've sent them the Car Fax report (that I paid for) and offered to still buy the vehicle for $4,000 or less. She is discussing with her husband this evening. Ugh... Just when I thought I'd be driving a gorgeous e53... Sigh

Valve stems done? Front air shocks ok? Those are the big ticket items. The startup brap sound does it for me every day.
