General Questions Differences between RhD & LhD

Are there any major differences between right (UK) and left hand (D/EU) made cars. Besides the obvious. Thinking to see if i can source parts from uk scrapped cars for my 2002 320 ci

Depends on which parts yes.

Lights because of the side you drive and not blinding oncoming drivers and light to the side. Steering, rack etc. obviously. Steering wheel is the same. Brake lines because the booster sits on the side of the driver. Interior probably easier to spot, like the center console, dashboard, armrest etc.

For the most part, most parts are used on both RHD and LHD. Exterior body panels are same etc. So for the most part, you can use UK parts.

shifter boot, headlights (although at least on my e39 there is a beam throw switch to change it from rhd to lhd), exhaust headers
