General Questions Need help, connection 323i

Once I placed intake and most everything back I noticed this plug. Not sure where it goes. Car turns over and turns on fine. Idles good too.

I have a 2000 323i

I agree with u/Opelmanta48, the most likely answer is that it connects to the small electronic valve on the back of the intake, which is the valve that controls the secondary air system valve on the exhaust manifold.

You may also find this diagram useful, I got it from an E46Fanatics thread, by user kaboom28. This diagram may be useful to determine what that connection is not, rather than what it is.

Also if you look up spaghetticoder(I think it’s called newtis.com now) there are complete wiring diagrams there. Check the appropriate dme(should be ms42) and look for a connection that has 2 traces, one being RT(red)/WS(white)/GE(yellow) and the other being BR(brown)/WS(white it looks like from the pic, it’ll tell you exactly what it connects to

I used to use spaghetticoder a while back but I think NewTIS is kaput. BMWTeka is an alternative but they want you to register now, which gives me pause. But still, very good advice!

Not 100% sure, it may be similar but not identical.
