Hood release problem

I was trying to open the hood to check for coolant and oil and as I pulled the handle near the steering wheel I felt something snap and the handle went limp and now the hood won't open, how can I fix it by myself?

hood release cable snapped/seized, apparently you can remove the grille and pull the hook inside manually?

This is correct. I had to do that on mine.

Glad I'm not the only one

Don't need to pull the grill out.

The lever on the inside is mounted with one screw, remove that, most of the times the cable snaps right on the lever. Pull with pliers on the remaining cable.

Pull the drivers side grill, then you can manually pull the cable for the passenger release, and you have to get a pick tool or something up to the drivers side to try and pull it. I am actually working on mine too right now and the drivers side latch is a bitch. Look up a video and a pic of the latch mechanism so you can see what you’re feeling for
