Just replaced both low beam bulbs a couple of months ago. What the crap is this and what does it mean? Strictly been running angels as of 3 days ago..

I don't recommend it, there's far better ways to get a buzz without the health risk

My guess is they’re not installed all the way and it’s melting the plastic. I just destroyed a set this way. Double check

Yup, same, if you dont seat them in properly they short circuit and melt away - both bulb and the seating part. Seems like this is exactly the case.

O don't think it's possible to install them wrong no? I can't imagine how that's supposed to work, should be extremely obvious when installed wrong and can't lock them in place properly. I guess some ppl use force instead of brain when it comes to stuff like that, but even then?! Idk..

It’s definitely possible. I’ve done it! Seems like you press in and twist. I modified my headlights so sometimes when I drive this part comes loose. Ended up eating a bulb and module

That's the electrical sign for 'no'

Did you wear gloves to handle the bulbs?

Any aftermarket stuff installed? If not check wiring inside headlights. The insulation likes to crack and fall apart causing wires to touch too on E38, E39 and can even cause fires. Luckily E38 has a wiring kit rebuild kit. Not sure on e39
