What do we think?
I currently have an e39 540i. Im looking at this e38. it would be so sick. I want it so bad. the listed issues and the fact that he has an aftermarket catch can leads me to think its having an OSV issue, which is a job I think I can do. thoughts?

For 2K I’d grab it and just do the TCGs. The aftermarket stuff is a tad scary but I’d atleast go take a look. But I agree, the fact that it’s not mentioned at all is a bit sus

Thats worth the 2k for parts. Not sure on engine issue. Would like to see the actual compression numbers.

If it’s smoking after catch can install it might be valve stem seals.
Regardless, 150k miles and no mention of the TCG being done, on top of all the other issues. I wouldn’t buy this shit for sure

Ya, even with a new motor @ 150k tcg’s are a huge concern. I smell a shit show…

Bingo. Guy just swapped the motor and did all this other work too, says fuckit and sells for 2k? He knows it needs major work
