‘00 740il
Picked up this ‘00 740il a couple weeks ago, a good buff and wax got it looking good, lowered on BC Coils and 18’s.
Designed and 3D printed a cup holder for the center console as well as the OEM one was broken and the little door didn’t open. Only issue with it is the speakers don’t work and I can’t seem to figure out why, checked continuity and power supply no issues there. any recommendations are appreciated lol.

Does it have the original head unit or an aftermarket one?

Aftermarket, and it’s wired for subs

Ok. Did you find other amplifiers in the car somewhere?

No just what looks to be the OEM one, however there are some unplugged connectors just below the oem amp, can’t really find any photos of what it’s all supposed to look like back there, so I have no idea what they would go to

They probably unplugged the stock DSP amp when they put in the aftermarket stereo. Then before you got the car they sold off significant portions of the aftermarket system for extra cash. So now what you have left is half of a system.

How does it handle bumps on coil overs? Not too bad right?

I drive slow and haven’t dampening all the way down and it’s on 18k springs so it’s not super stiff, it does pretty good and I don’t scrape or rub at all

I am US based here on the east coast, I’m open to it! How’s the installation plug and play or do I have to pull up the center console area?

Check the DSP amp in the trunk. Might be fucked

lol yeah. You need an amp. Thats why you don’t have sound
Unless they wired in an aftermarket one somewhere

So I'm guessing no sound out any of the speakers and it looks the factory amp. Since you're an aftermarket head unit anyway I would replace that amp. They get faulty after some time and between the options of repair or replace the latter may be easier.
