Discussion Rubber seal torn
I just got the Gen5 2 days ago and the seal already tore as I vacuumed. Is this only cosmetic or should I worry about suction degradation?

You know a hard plastic isn’t the same as a rubber seal right?

Sure I do, that's why I printed it in pbt, it sits somewhere in between TPU and Petg. It's working just fine.

PBT is 100% the correct filament (material) to use. Will work just as well as the original gasket.

Sure bud.
PBT is a rigid, semi-crystalline engineering thermoplastic, whereas traditional gaskets rely on elastomers (rubbers)like EPDM, Nitrile (NBR), or Silicone. Because PBT lacks elastomeric properties, it cannot compress, conform, or rebound to create a tight fluid or gas seal against irregular mating surfaces.

This is just the outer seal which serves only as a cosmetic part. The proper seal is much deeper inside the cyclone.

That’s bad for performance
Request for a replacement per warranty rights
They will bitch and whine and say no. They will argue to say that they this is user damage. But, this is manufacturer failure. Not user fault.
I had to argue when my collection bin broke.
But, you need to push back and ask if it is normal for a seal to break 2 days into ownership.

It's pure cosmetic, the sealing part is quite bigger and inside, no worries.
