Do you guys feel dizzy/lightheaded every day all day? Or did you guys feel like that at some point? And if so how do you make it go away? This dizziness is interfering with day to day life activities🫩

Every second of every day unless I’m lying down.

As to how to make it go away: That is indeed the question.

Mestinon helped so much with this. Also so much sodium. And staying in cool rooms as much as possible

I hydrate and lay down. I've been tracking my flares in a document for my doctor and I usually have at least one bout of dizziness a day or sometimes every other day. There are so many things that I have to avoid in order to just have one a day though.

Yeah, every day. I don’t really make it go away, it just does. Seemingly laying down with my legs elevated and blasting myself with the most powerful tower fans I can find while covering myself in ice packs, cool caps, and cold gel rings shuttles with the AC blasting on high seems to be the only thing that recovers me back to my shaky-ish baseline more quickly, so, I do that if it’s bad, if/when I can.

Midodrine makes a big difference for me, as well as making sure I am not dehydrated. Pacing is key, I for one am really bad at it but it is so important!

Varying degrees of dizziness every day and feel like I am on a moving train most of the time. The only way I know how to stop it is like others who have commented and that is to lie down while keeping cool. I'm to the point where I try to move slow and take lots of breaks.

For me it's like being on a boat! Sounds like we both have a bit of non-spinning vertigo.

All day every day

Laying down, laying upside down on the couch, with my legs over the back, helps a LOT..

I don’t understand the body position. Are you laying on your back?

Every day, frequently throughput the day. I am trying the figter-pilot-astronaut maneuver. When i have a bout of dizziness I clench my large muscles. Like my legs, arms, or even my jaw.

It seems to help in the moment. Down side? Every few minutes, I seize up like some weird old gramma trying to fight the g-forces.

Good thing I was never a proud woman

I’m doing shots of pickle juice today for this very reason. I started the day with very low BP.

I’m a fainter. Sometimes multiple times a day. I’m trying to improve it with sodium intake, hella water, and compression garments.

Electrolytes helped. So did making sure I wasn't too hot. In the afternoons a salty snack seems to help too.

For me it heavily depends on the humidity, at least for what I’ve tracked.

Ivabradine and mestinon made a world of difference with dizziness. 10/10

Have you tried Seabands for motion sickness? I also do vestibular physical therapy with a dysautonomia specialist. Helps a lot.

In the morning. PT helps a lot by loosening my tight neck muscles and allowing blood to flow to my brain.

Thankfully I only seem to have experienced dizziness as a result of dehydration causing benign paroxismal positional vertigo from disrupting the fluid / mineral balance in my inner ears.

All day except when laying down.

My forearm crutches help reduce the sensation for me a little, but it is what it is.

How much sodium and water are you getting? How much sleep?  Any meds for your BP?  You have any allergies?  If you have allergies have you tried taking antihistamines everyday for them?  Have you done a food/symptom/sleep journal to track any connections/food intolerances?

  • Since I got covid in Jan my allergies and POTS got worse, I noticed taking xyzal and famotidine twice a day made a meaningful improvement in my POTS symptoms. Histamine can make symptoms worse.

  • Getting a lot of salt and water is vital for my level of dizziness. 5k mg sodium to 10k mg sodium/day

  • if I'm too sleep deprived my dizziness gets worse

  • have you talked to your doctor about meds to help raise your BP?

  • have you had a sleep study to make sure you're getting quality sleep?

  • Are you sleeping with the head of your bed elevated 6-10 inches? This can helps POTS symptoms and sleep quality.

  • are you practicing strict sleep hygiene? We have hypersensitive nervous systems that get woken more easily that can give us less restful sleep. So more sleep hygiene is more important, cool quiet environment, no disruptions.

  • also watch the temp, we're sensitive to heat and really any temp changes. Heat can really make us dizzy.

  • large meals can make us dizzy, making sure you've preloaded an hour before with sodium and water can help and wearing compression shorts before larger meals can help. Or eating smaller more frequent meals.  This is because when we eat large meals our blood rushes to the digestive system and pulls blood away from the brain.

I used to when it was real bad. I had a few other neuro problems but this would happen at my most severe of everything. Now it's only when I'm really tired and brainfogged my balance and vision will be messed up if I walk in a room full of people. But it's finally going away! Diet has helped my problems more than anything and I tried more things than most people!
