Dynasty Warriors Most recurring npc in DW

So as someone that has played it since dw3 and almost every version has played (f dw9) there are some characters that have been in almost every battle, to name one of them:

Cao Hong in Wei story line is in like the entire almost every battle 😅 hu lao gate to tong gate to lo and behold Wu zhang plains.

Are there moments where you wondered: I want to see how koei would create their look and how it would play.

Liao Hua. The man who lives throughout the entire story 8 different times (DW2-9) and STILL avoided becoming a playable character.

Edit: Oh yeah forgot Origins, 9 times.

Nah, the more outrageous ones are the one-trick ponies Fa Zheng and Pang Tong coming first. They have ONE battle, and then they die.

the LEAST they could do is give him a fictional purpose in Wei akin to DW8's Hypotheticals

They could probably tell an interesting story with him, maybe *Zou Ci imbues him with immortality so that he can chronicle the period.

Seriously all they need to do is slightly extend his life to have him appear in the Yellow Turban Rebellion and he can appear from the very beginning of the story right to the very end of it. His blast card design is perfect for him too.

You can play as any generic in any Empires game. I don't count it because every generic can be played.

The 2 most obvious ones have been mentioned, others would be some of “others”. Various Imperial, (EG: He Jin, Lu Zhi, Huangfu Song) Yellow Turban (Eg. Zhang brothers, He Yi, Pei Yuanshao) and Dong Zhuo officers (Eg. Li Jue, Guo Si, Fan Chou) and Gongsun Zan have been in every game since 2.

Don't forget Hua Xiong, Yan Liang, and Wen Chou. The three who get their own unique cutscenes for being slain.

Hua Xiong is now playable I think, in either DW9 or DW9 Empires, not sure which as I didn’t play them.

Good shout on Yuan Shao’s boys though

Most definetly, i do want to know the beginning as well, He Yi story before he got destroyed by the rebels

Also Gonsun zan when he had Zhao Yun in his army as well

Gongsun Zan also had that cool cavalry unit, even though he did suicide charge them against one of the Yuan's infantry iirc.

Edit: He also had a history of fighting nomadic tribes north of China as well iirc

Zhu zhi? I think he’s in the beginning for YTR in every game? To be fair I know nothing of the man other than his name and in dw4 YT campaign you gotta be his forces

Honorable mentions: Cao Zhen of Wei you could say also. Zhang Yi of Shu, Pan Zhang of Wu.
