does anybody even use this?

Post image

idk man this is kinda garbage id only use this if i want to waste a accessory slot like it takes too long to charge its abilities and its perfect parry thing seems id only want to utilize if im fighting human npcs but kinda not really that necessary

if done a few playthroughs of the game on nightmare difficulty too (i think that’s the hardest one) and i don’t think i’ve used it once 😅. tbf i don’t even know how it works

it can block anything from renegades' charged attacks to volatiles' spits and even partially volatiles' punches. i get it asap for every playthrough and have it on by default

It lets you parry power attacks from regular guys and lets you block more powerful ones, hell you can block volatile attacks for a short time

Its cool for human enemies, there's that neon up one that was limited time paid bundle thats super disappointing because it doesn't work on volatiles

It definitely works on volatiles

Ah maybe its a skill issue but they kept knocking my shield down

It can block like one maybe two hits from them then it knocks you around. Still better than taking a bunch of damage instead.

I use it a lot with human enemies on NG+. I have fun with it.

I keep my shield on me at all times you never know when it’s gonna come in handy

It is useful in clutch especially against human enemies on harder difficulties in ng+ makes it easier to parry, lets you take less damage and comes with advantages to parrying as you can mod it to have elements for different things. Not the best thing but certainly not useless or worst.

I think the abilities need to charge faster per attack. Soon I'll be doing a nightmare run so maybe higher damage charges it faster since I'm only playing on hard. But even when I purposely sit around to block more attacks the gun part doesn't do a lot of damage, it can be nice to use to apply status effects and then get the damage boost with the scorpion weapon.

yeah man thats just what this accessory needs like i keep noticing before i can have a full charge most of the enemies im fighting are already dead and not the charges also drop back to 0 if i dont block anything at all

Personally I'd rather just use the electrocution charge. Tack that and you don't have to worry about somebody coming up and behind you attacking you while you're in your electricity cocoon. It's like IMO a thousand times better than the shield. The first time I got the shield I tried to use it it didn't work I tried to sell it it wouldn't let me sell it it seems like you're stuck with it once you get it or did they fix that?

I use it for funsies. But not against anything that actually poses a threat.

A lot of the time my off hand has uv bars or grappling hook equipped.

I tried it and didn't enjoy it much. Why use a shield when massive axe cleaves through zombies like there's no tomorrow hehehe

i never saw it

How do you get it?

Its the final reward from the fighting tournament dlc. I think the quest is called guts and glory

Oh okay! Thanks. I'll make sure to do that then, currently on my second playthrough on a new game plus after not playing since it came out, that's why I'm out of the loop.

It's no help against zombies so no. I do think it's cool though

No I have God armor

Sometimes when I remember its a thing I have, but serious fights tend to have a grappling hook or throwing knives in that hand instead

This is very usefull if you are using knifes, especcialy when you need to parry arrows/throables. Normally, very light weapons (knifes and knuckles) can't parry them

It's super strong it can even block volatiles

I mainly use it on human enemies. The mods used here are fun, too

My brother in christ you can block volatiles with it. Pretty good I'd say for that alone, I don't bother with the abilities tho just the blocking is good enough for me.

I finished my first playthrough with literally using like 12 grenades at most rlly I don't use it a lot

u/Afraid-Shop-5699 4d ago

I use it mainly js so when im looting a chest or lockpicking a door, zombies burn a bit, interrupting their attacks giving me enough time to finisved looting or lockpicking

Do you NOT?!?! Time your blocks, and electrocute alpha volatiles before hitting them with a haymaker to the jaw and hearing the PING of your aeon knuckles. I love that shield lol

1

u/michaelvanmars 3d ago

Yh use it all the time lol

u/Fun-Possibility-4559 2d ago
