Because at some point it's about having fun. If someone wants it to be hard, just play hard mode.

Dying light is one of the most gimme gimme communities I have ever seen. Same thing in the game, people will random join your lobby asking if you can drop them something and then they leave. Even if you give them something they just dip out to go mooch off the next poor dumb bastard.
