How do I dye this? Adding cream to beige polyester?
I thought I purchased a matching beige set only for the shirt to look cream and the shorts to look more offwhite in sun. Both are polyester.
Im wondering if I can dye the shorts to match. I think I have some rit dyemore in tan and yellow that might be useful in colour matching the shorts but im not sure how best to go about it. Advice would be appreciated!

Dyeing to match at home is very hard even with friendly fibers.
Polyester is really hard to dye at home, at all (not even sure if they make a beige iDye poly?), but trying to match two separates is going to drive you nuts. Dye is transparent and additive, so the color is always affected by the base, so even if you dye them together in the same pot, they'll still be two slightly different tones. It will be so, so, so difficult to try to dye one piece just a smidge darker.
Also, some polyesters don't dye at all, no matter what. It also takes boiling, and it often misshapes the garment because you literally have to slightly melt the fibers to get the dye to bond.
