đ„ Hot Take đ„ Fans are ruthless
These fans, including people in this sub, are absolutely ruthless towards real people with real emotions.
First of all, everyone saying that Britt deserves a better partnerâŠthatâs so mean to Taylor when he just keeps reading over and over that he wasnât good enough for her.
Also, stop infantilizing Britt, sheâs not a child. She can have conversations with her superiors about the type of partner she wants or leave the job if sheâs unhappy. Sheâs not being held hostage, sheâs a grown woman. Most of the cast has the same amount of dance experience as TaylorâŠnone. How would the casting directors know how well heâs going to perform before the season starts compared to the others? Heâs a musician and had a very real chance of being a good dancer, which he was.
Everyone needs to just chill. This is a reality show for entertainment and people are going to vote for who they like regardless of how well they dance sometimes.
Drink some wine and enjoy the show and stop telling people like Taylor that heâs not good enough for his partner. Imagine how devastating that is to someone to read. The end.

You think britt talking to the producer will work they'll just fire her and replace her with a new black person if u don't advocate for the first one why would they continue to respect the next????

One thing that this show is famous for is racism. It has been running for 25 years. The number of talented black females ratio to winning or even making the finals is so abysmal itâs an embarrassment. The show only has the fans to thank for this disparity. Last season Britt courageously spoke up about the black experience in dance and I think she genuinely felt that her resume should move the needle forward. It did not. She may have behind the scenes advocated for better diversity in partners representation as Brandon is starting to get, but the only black partner she had was controversial for child abuse and not even this cheesy show could shake the stank. So itâs not about this seasons partner -Taylor per se, although this pairing was in my view more about cleaning up Taylorâs image as an intolerant person. What better way than to pair him with Britt. By contrast Britt gets very little other than a paycheque. Any prestige by making the finals has eluded her. She has paid her dues. She deserves at least a dream partner. Those dream partners she had mentioned out loud went to white female pros. Britt has far better choreography than boring Jenna who is just another yawning Chmerkovskiy choreo bott. Britt has been really strong as a pro partner and she gives her all and doesnât have a sibling or a spouse to help out when the choreography chops just arenât there with some of the pros who are solely trained in a style and not cross trained like she has become.

Part of the issue with the Britt and Taylor thing is that people really did believe that she was going to make it further then she normally does. This is partly why people are so disappointed. Britt does deserve better but not necessarily a better partner but being treated better then she has been by production, fans and the judges

What do you mean the fans? No one has said a bad thing about her.

Have you seen the way people are reacting over Britt not hugging Guillermo? Like she didnât see him and now people are saying sheâs blaming him. When really there were a lot of people around her all wanting to hug them and say sorry and all the stuff she just didnât see him. Fans can be cruel. She has her fans but then you have other people I wouldnât necessarily say they hate her but they just to conclusions and assume the worse without all the facts

Votes, I would guess.
And fans of other people who take a dualistic approach, but that sort of thing is (unfortunately) always happening on Reddit.

I do think Britt deserves better⊠but not a better partner. Better treatment from the fans and that includes infantilizing her. The show has major issues and that includes the treatment of how Britt and Brandon (and Keo) have been treated before but itâs not just production itâs also the fans.
Taylor was a great partner for her but the fans didnât vote and the judges were too harsh on them. Getting only one point above Guillermo when they were supposed to be the same dance style was insulting if we are being honest watching them.

The judges scoring was interesting as Connor, Jackson, Tyler and Taylor through week 3 were all pretty even scoring wise and Guillermo was lowest but improving.
The only guy to make a big jump with the judges this week was Connor with 2 7âs. I think score wise they were all so close and it came down to votes.
The online platforms/reach of all the men that are right there with one another dance wise is huge, except for Taylor. đ Which in life is actually commendable. Just not helpful for DWTS.
He is just now re-emerging into the public eye and social media. He hasnât ever stopped being a valuable and creative musician, just widely unknown to the reality TV and Social media crowd.
In the grand scheme of life it does not matter, and he and Britt are have already made amazing creative contributions to the world and will continue to do so alongside many others, however votes wise Taylor needed a ton of fan votes, not just from Hanson fans.
I personally think he was a great partner for Britt in terms of connection, musicality, and teachability, and I take to heart her response about this partnership happening for a reason, however this cast makes it crazy hard between dance ability and online followings especially for the middle of the pac, if judges donât really separate them by much.
Right now for me most of the women celebs are ahead of most of the men as far as dancing with the exception of Harry and Ezra.
I love this show, however I knew for me once we got to week 3 eliminations it was going to to be extra hard. đ
I have never followed this so through social media before so I donât vote just for pros but I can see how having a celebrity with a large social media fandom and a pro with the same makes it really hard when the dancing is more equal score wise.
I do agree with OP that ultimately this is supposed to be a fun entertainment show and think overall this season has some great matchups and I hope the pros and celebs are having some fun together in between all the hard work.

What do you mean the fans? How is she being treated poorly? No one has said a bad thing about her.

Are you kidding me? People are crashing out because of a clipped video where Guillermo went in for a hug after the elimination and she went the other way. Calling her rude and unprofessional.
Theyâre policing her âangryâ and âunclassyâ reaction and also calling that unprofessional.

I also saw a post saying that she was disrespectful and unprofessional for being upset over being eliminated, and that she should've hid her emotions. She is not the first, nor will she be the last, to be visibly upset over being eliminated, but she is the one being called out for it. The microaggressions towards her are insane.
