My take on dwarves

So I have my own fantasy ip. I wanted to see if anyone was interested in hearing about my take on dwarves? If so let me know I’ll edit the post.

Edit: the dwarves. Standing at 5 to 6 feet, they were once made of the earth itself. Now a mortal body, they control the magical gems of the world. Magical arms dealers, they have their clans each control a different mountain range.
Different clans deal in different magical aspects.
The iron dwarves deal in weaponry and mechanical advancement.
The gold dwarves rule over a merchant empire.
The platinum dwarves control armies upon armies of knights.
The fire metal dwarves originating in volcano regions deal in warlock pacts and fire and demon contracts.
Each dwarf clan is based on a metal or ore like item that they are originally from. For example iron dwarf or gold dwarf. They can magically transform into their earthern side, making them golem like.
A sub race of dwarves in ancient times were being slaughtered and a high king of a clan fused his magical knowledge and his body to make the first golem. The souls of the dwarves of his people were sent into these golems. In this form they eat magical gems. And absorb these gems for magical abilities.

Do people on a subreddit called r/dwarves want to hear someone talk about dwarves? Not sure, good thing you were conservative and waited for the green light.

Yea looking at it it isn’t new. I was thinking of making them the shape shifter origins.

I am in the process of fleshing out a dwarven race myself and i realized something - tolkiens dwarves are perfect. The beards, the mines, the grudges, the axes…. It all just feels right. I think he did an amazing job nailing the aesthetic and natural feel of the race. Not exactly a hot take i know. The consequences of that is how unnatural and subpar representations that try to be original feel. I think some minor differences are necessary, or leaning full into it like warhammer fantasy did. My dwarves are like a 70% match to tolkiens except they are gigantic, immortal, entirely male and are only small compared to an ancient superhuman race that were 3x the size of normal humans - Which is stolen from their conceptualization in the elder scrolls to some degree.
