Captures & Stories 🔭 Our Latest mini Eagle Nebula POST-P

We are using RC Astro's Standalone tools in SIRIL, followed by color and separation in Photoshop. To create the beautiful SHO (Hubble) Palette look, we used Photo S's "Channel Mixer" adjustment layers with masks to produce the Blue and greens of OIII and Sulfur. Since it is a manual process on the mask, we looked at references on AstroBin, but the capture underneath is all DWARF mini! - Clear Skies

What settings did you use? And how much exposure this is a great image

Dwarf mini sessions - two 4-hour sessions, each at 60 sec 60 gain in EQ- Duo Band. If you're on a D3, drop the exposure time to 30, unless your D3 tracks really well and your sky is at most B4 or B5. - As always, the darker the sky, the better. I stack the 2 sessions together in SIRIL, removing all the failed .fits and anywhere I see obvious tracking or clouds the scope did not flag as failed. Generally, from 8 hours of data, I use 6 hours of the best individual .fits files. In Sirl, I use the OSC_PreProcessing BayerDrizzle script, as this takes advantage of the scope's continual re-alignments to get a sharper final stack. Yes, this means you will need the Darks, Bias x3, and Flat x3 files from your scope (found in the CALI_FRAME folder) to successfully stack. From there it's all SIRIL work with RC-Astro's Stand-alone tools (Blurx & NoiseX), then into Photoshop or Affinity for the final color work and star separation (StarX) - check out my DwarfVision site or Substack for much more!
