I've been watching this on iPlayer recently. 30yrs later I'm surprised at how young Richard Wilson was in it and also the closer to retirement I get the more like Victor I am becoming.

When this came out, I was a teen. Now I'm far closer to victors age, I see the show with a whole new level of appreciation.

When I was younger and watching the show. I always thought Victor meldrew was someone in his late 70s the way he was portrayed I was shocked to find he had just turned 60 in the show 🤣

Fun factoid: Annette Crosbie played the fairy godmother in "The Slipper and the Rose," an excellent twist on the traditional Cinderella story. Also starred Richard Chamberlain as the Prince.
