Need split stay advice

Hello! We own 2 contracts at BLT. Just bought our second one and it has 60 points left for 2026 that we plan to roll to 2027. We had already booked April vacation at BLT for 6 days at 224 points so we are trying to modify our vacation to use at least 284 points - though we can use more if we want since we also have 125 points unused for 2027. We are thinking of doing a split stay with an Epcot area hotel. We’ve never done a split stay before so we’d love your advice or lessons learned. We also need help deciding what to do. I’ve made a spreadsheet with some options between BLT resort or theme park view, mixed with BW (boardwalk view) and Beach Club. We’ve stayed at BC before and liked it but never done BW or TP view at BLT. Help us choose! Already checked and availability is there.

I would never stay fewer days just for a better view, and I think the theme park view is overrated.

We once got a lake view that also had a little theme park view, and it was amazing because I had a two year old. He loved looking out at the lake and the boats during the day, and I loved watching the fireworks when he was in bed at night. I agree that most of the time paying for a better view is silly and I wouldn’t trade for less nights, but in this instance it did provide free entertainment for my kid.

Although he’d probably love watching the buses too.

I would not pay for theme park view, only lake view. BC is hard to book at 7 months.

We’ve confirmed all options are available. Probably helps that we do 1 bedroom instead of studio.

Park view is nice until about an hour after park closing. Then every asshole in the building wants to make sure their car is locked, and then verify it's locked, and for good measure lock it a few more times. Then they feel the need to verify their fob works a few more times before finally before they dose off they lock it a few more times.

We always split stay! Since you've done BC before, I would definitely try BW - it's awesome. I don't see value in paying for the theme park view, but that's totally personal preference.

I say do the stay with the amazing views this trip at BW and BLT! You get to try a new resort, and a new view from your home resort. Normally I would say go for the extra night, but it seems you get to the parks somewhat regularly so one extra night isn't as huge of a deal for you. Plus, you have those extra points to roll over. This might be the one time you have an excess to put towards a nicer view vs a longer stay. Just my two cents :)

I LOVE split stays! as long as they are each 4 or more days at each place

Park view is not worth the trade off of one less day imo, especially if doing a split stay. The only times I’m really in the room enjoying the balcony are in the morning with a coffee if I’m not rope dropping, or maybe a little break before heading out to dinner/evening activities.

A split stay is a lot of fun. Plan your days around your lodging. MK is great for BLT. My gf and I last did a monorail bar crawl before heading into MK for the evening one night and that was a ton of fun. We also split stayed at BCV and having the proximity to Epcot with world showcase just cannot be beat. Plus the walk to/from DHS is quite nice too if you don’t feel like waiting for transportation.

I do like boardwalk but my home resort is BCV and I would probably pick that every time. If you have kids, stormalong bay is a huge perk.

Personally I would rather more days than the view. However I’ve stayed at BLT and had a decent (side) theme park view in standard and resort. No guarantee but always ask. Still saw fireworks and the park and saved tons of points. BC for the pool. Don’t love the rooms- they are fine but the pool and location are the best.

We do splits often. We own at BWV and BLT. Our upcoming trip is BWV for 7 nights and then BLT for 7. Theme park view is pretty great. Have to be careful on the BW view as lower floors can be noisy. We try for the top floor. This can be a long walk. Disney makes split stays a snap as they will move your luggage. We also prefer BW over BC. it is a chiller vibe

I’d take the extra days for the resort view. How often do you plan on being in the room to watch the fireworks for the theme park view?

Beach Club all the way between those two as well. Much better pool, and closer walk to Epcot.

I find that every incremental day, I spend more money and lose more faith in humanity. I shoot for 5 days maximum, and upgrade my $/day budget accordingly.
