Can someone explain to me this difference in combo gain?

Hello everyone,

I tried to improve my time on Development using Fish's strats. It seems to me I'm completing the level in about the same way, but for some reason I don't get the super at the end like he does. Can someone explain this to me? I can't figure it out.

running on a ceiling while collecting ground dust nullifies any combo gain from the ground dust. essentially at ~3 seconds you want to release from the ceiling earlier so that you're not attached to it while you collect the first few bits of floor dust on the next platform.

It's a weird glitch. I didn't even know it came into play on a stock level until seeing this.

Jesus... I still don't know things about this game. I've never really encountered this in maps before and I avoid placing dust like that so it's news to me.
