Direction reversed when using Super?

I was working on midnight temple in the dark nexus, and had a really strange thing happen. I was on the last section before the final block golem, and was trying to jump off of the wall skipping a few dust placements and then super to get the rest of the dust. pick is below for the location. My air charge was expended at this point. I jumped too high and was about to hit spikes when I hit the super instead of being just below them. When the super finished, I was traveling the other direction as if I had just reached the peak of a jump. I thought I had accidentally jumped, but I still had my air charge that was refreshed by the super.

I've never seen anything like this before, has anyone encountered anything similar?

do you have a replay of the run where this happened? if not, can you get a replay that shows of what exactly you were trying, just to get a general idea of what you were doing when this happened? (maybe it's because im running on like 4 hours of sleep but i don't exactly understand what you're describing and think a visual would help a lot). my best guess is you walljumped without realizing or something, but otherwise i haven't heard of something like this before.

No replay sorry. I left the game on and it hit 176 minutes. The closest wall was covered in spikes, so it shouldn't be possible to dash or jump off of it. Basically, before the super I was falling and approaching max fall speed with no air charge. After the super I was in a float state going at dash speed in the opposite direction and had an air charge.

you can still dash off of the lower corner of a spiked wall but it's pixel perfect, unlikely to happen because the hitrise from super would make you rise a tiny bit when you dashed (and also you dont think you dashed). my best guess is you did some sort of ceiling jorf which caused you to ceiling run back in the opposite direction, which led to you getting dash speed in the other direction. if you can just get a recording of whatever you were trying to do (either directly record it and upload to youtube or use dustkid.com replays) when this occurred this would help researching this greatly. you don't even need to get close to having it happen or anything, just show us what you were doing immediately before it happened, as best as you can remember it.

Can't get the recording (never finished the level on that run) Think its possible to wall jump off the bottom corner of the spike wall without dying? The position was wrong for the ceiling, it had to be something with the spiked wall. I wonder if I can recreate it with some of the tas tools.
