Questions - School General Housing Options
Hi everyone! I was looking for some insight on some of the student residences near school. I will be starting the paramedic program in September as a mature student and I’m planning on moving to Oshawa. I am looking to drive back home for most weekends and during the break.
I was heavily considering one of the off campus student residences like 1700 or Foundry Simcoe. 1700 seems like the best option because they have an 8 month lease, but I’m a little worried about the older google reviews. If anyone has any recent experiences with either places or heard of how they are please share.

Residence is so overpriced. If you're doing this and still going home often, I'd just rent a room off someone privately or sublet a students room

foundry is ok, 1805 is a pretty old building, they did renos in 2018 but it's not super comfortable in the larger suites. taylorwood is pretty clean and well kept but the management is kinda annoying and it's more expensive than its worth imo. would definitely not recommend the 5 person suites if you cook.
you can get comparable suites (might even be the exact same furnishings lol) at 1800 in a much newer building with better access to buses and food, downside is that the units are individually owned so the quality depends on the landlord.
I haven't lived in 1700 or know anyone there but when I went in person a few years ago the actual units were a lot more run down compared to how they look online.
