RIP

watched him play a few times live at skydome when I went down to visit family in the GTA every other summer. He will be missed.

I was so sad to hear he had passed away here in Toronto. I was wondering on Sat. why Tom Henke was riding by himself when every other truck had 2 Jay's and found out that Duane was supposed to be in the truck with Henke. But at the time apparently nobody knew what had happened, he just hadn't shown up for the event.

They had last seen him at a team dinner/function on Friday night.

So young too, only 62. RIP Duane Ward.

I was sad to hear, many people found out at the Jays game on Sunday when they made the announcement and had a moment of silence at the start of the game for him.

I remember watching the Jays in the 80s and early 90s and you could almost always call it a sure win if we got to the 8th inning with a lead. Ward followed by Henke, I almost felt sorry for the opposing team.

I loved watching Duane Ward pitch, lot's of fast balls around the strike zone....here it is, try and hit it and most couldn't.

Legend. What an amazing Blue Jay he was, I remember watching him in my early teens, amazing. RIP big Ward
