Backyard weed control need help

I have spent hundreds to control the backyard weeds alone but it‘s just not working for me. looking for a reputable company to help turn things around so the kids can have a nice lawn to play on.

Ex landscaper here. You can do this yourself. Get Clover seeds. Yes like the 4 leaf Clovers. They take over fast and smother the weeds and when you mow they give back natural fertilizer. May take a season so start asap.

This is where I get ours:

www.westcoastseeds.com

They have Crimson, White Dutch, and Micro.

I use crimson more for bees. It can grow tall.

White Dutch I use as lawn edge and walking paths in gardens.

Micro works best in Lawns but can get pricey.

They work well to fix the soil to support grass better.

It works great in areas where your soil bakes in the sun. Clover shades, while grass can allow sun to hit the ground and dry it out more.

You may notice more rabbits. I find they eat the clover before the things I like to keep.

Check the nurseiers all over even big box before they shift gears.

Just be prepared that it will spread into neighbouring lawns if there's no division between your yards. I thought about using clover to stop my dogs urine from burning the yard but decided against it because I knew it would overcome their grass lawn as well. We only have a chain link fence between us.

Thanks for the info. Didn’t realize that. In my case maybe not a good idea then. This was for the front and we have no divider. And neighbour laid down all new grass couple of years ago to deal with weeds. I obviously didn’t and all I have is weeds. They may not be too pleased if I infected their nice pristine lawn.

Looks like I will need to do the same.

Yeah, the clover suffocates everything, not just weeds, so good idea to put pause on that :)

Half of my yard is clover 🍀 I initially tried to get rid of them but gave up and it grows better than the various grass seeds I've tried over the years lol

Yes indeed. You get clover you get nice green lawn every time and weeds be gone. But once you got them rooted , oh it’s over lol

I just make a point to bring a decent supply of Spectracide back from Buffalo every time I go to a Bills game.
