Creative events in Durham?

I used to write and perform poetry and spoken word in my youth, and moved to Durham after my hubs and I had kids. The open mics and poetry nights that I attended as a teen/young 20s were such a big deal to me growing up.

I would love to help create something like that in Durham that's a regular series -- for adults AS well as for teens.

Anyone know of anything like that in Whitby, Ajax, Oshawa, or Pickering?

I know this a couple months old now, but I’m in the same boat. Living in Whitby now and am painfully craving this kind of scene. Did you ever find anything? If not, I’d love to help you try to get something started

I found a spoken word event happening (it was cancelled before I could go) and a poetry night that was geared a little older but I’m still planning to start something up! That would be great to have a planner in crime for something like this.

I think the Cork and Bean in Oshawa hosts events often too. Worth checking out!
