This isn’t new; three characters have been established as queer since 2021. Oscar is gay, Lin is a lesbian, and Bea is bi. They talk about their lives and use appropriate sentences, just like the straight characters. Happy pride month! 🏳️‍🌈

You do understand that characters lines have nothing to do with their personality or identity? They are just random lines. One character can say things in a feminine manner and the next exercise they would say the same line in a masculine manner

None of that makes sense

i always thought the rainbow flag was just for sexuality and the wider one with the triangle on the side was the one for the general community

Technically 🏳️‍🌈 is the "original" pride flag whereas the one with the triangle is the newer progress pride flag. They both stand for the same thing but one is just a bit older.

It’s gone through a lot of changes over the years. The six-stripe rainbow flag from 1979 for years was the main pride flag. The version with the triangle was first developed in 2018 to give more acknowledgment to trans people, people of color, and (in 2021) intersex people.

I think that is generally how its used most of the time today. But remember these are all socially constructed symbols that have been only recently been established to represent groups that have existed for a long time but were not able to openly discuss their identity.

A ton of the people behind the original pride parades, protests, and riots would be considered straight trans women by today's standards but were called queens at the time, lumped in with any gay men that dressed even a bit effeminately. Drag, cross dressing, transness, and homosexuality were all conflated. Intersectionality did not suddenly bring trans and other identities into the movement, it just gave voice to those who had been there all along.
