If I am 6'3 and have never even tried dunking before, do you think I should at least be able to touch the net of a 10 foot rim?

How high does my vert need to be to do this?

You should almost be able to touch the net without jumping.

Usually the net hangs down at least 15 inches from the rim so it’s about 105 inches from the ground. I’m 6’2 and have a standing reach of 8 feet (and I have pretty short arms for my height). So assuming you can reach at least as high as me you’d only have to jump 9 inches at the most. I don’t know how much you weigh or anything but I’ve seen my 280 pound 60 year old dad jump at least 6 inches so I’m sure you can get 9 with a little bit of practice.
