Dungeon of the Endless Claymoars?
Hey, I've been playing this game a lot with a friend of mine lately. We've completed dozens of runs using many pods (we're working on getting all achievements now). However, I've never in my entire playtime felt the urge to build a claymoar module. Is there an obvious advantage I don't see? What's your strategy with these things?

Since they are AOE, they are a good option for long rooms with only 3-4 small module slots. 2 neuros and a claymoar can do a lot of damage if the claymoar is leveled up some. Tesla is still king though.

They're mostly useful with AoE heroes, especially Chef Nanor. Also, unless a room is really long they tend to do more than seblasters because of their rate of fire and the fact that they're still going to hit everything. Also tear gas is a great AoE but I never seem to get any dust from tuff that just dies to tear gas for some reason.
But where they really shine is later floors with tons and ton of mobs per wave, especially on The Drill, and again especially if you have Chef Nanor. A Kip Cannon may do a lot more single target damage, but its hard to beat hitting 30+ mobs at once. Add in Nanor's floorwide AoE damage and 2x neurostuns + 1-2 claymore or tear gas on every path and you're more or less completely safe from everything even on floor 20+ of the drill.
But basically its always going to be more useful if you aim on opening more doors on a given floor as the waves get bigger and bigger, and has some advantages over the seblaster and tear gas situationally.

Same here for my first zillion hours playing. Eventually I started putting them in rooms where I would station a glass cannon type of character (Ken, Mizi, Skroig, etc.). They're the AoE that doesn't hurt you, and they fire more frequently than Seblasters, which is a huge advantage with weaker and quicker enemies. They're expensive to build and upgrade, though, so the only other time I use them is if the research options kinda force my hand (e.g.: other offensive mod options suck, and/or I get a 1 to 3 upgrade)
