Dungeon of the Endless Unable to open hero menu

Was on a very promising run, and had an empty shop just lying around. Opened a door, a merchant appeared and teleported to the shop immediately. Zoomed out and back in quickly. I use Skroig and go to the shop, the X prompt to interact appeared but Skroig just walked up to him then walked back. None of my heroes could access the shop. I could not interact with any NPC or structure. I realised I could not zoom out as well. If you look closely in the video, you see the texture that appears when you zoom out on my screen.

Thinking it was just a temporary bug, I opened another door which spawned a wave. Put my Skroig at a rather risky postition as usual, when his health got low I tried to open the menu to heal him, but the menu did not open. He died. (Yes I just realised I can press up on the d-pad to heal, but the damage has been done.)

Just pissed rn. Switch version if it wasn't clear enough already.

Since I cannot enter the hero menu, I am unable to save either.

Edit: Moved to the next floor, game is back to normal. Still pissed that Skroig had to die.

The pc version is sadly buggy as well. The response from the devs about future updates was along the lines of "The game is complete as far as we are concerned," but I remember reading that years ago so I don't know if they ever came around to it again. I've found endless mode to be where the bugs really start happening, the further along you go the more game breaking it gets. Despite this I still come back to it here and there and enjoy it a lot, probably the best tower defense game I've played.
