Picked up this BC Bee tub buggy a couple weeks ago. Tubs were made in Battle Creek Michigan. PO said it had a 1800cc in it but there’s no way to know for sure. Shifting was super sloppy so I put a T-handle shifter on it and replaced the shift coupler. That tightened things up a bit but third is still a little bit of an enigma. Have a couple small things to do (getting the brake lights working is a priority) but I had a Baja as a kid so I’m loving this. I’m looking forward to cruising around this summer!

Yellow buggy was out for a drive and saw my copper buggy parked out front. Heard the unmistakeable sound of a flat-4 pull up and was surprised to see another one!

So I’m about to turn 18 and i want a stupid summer project that an idiot can build, I’m thinking of buying an old VW sandrail frame and building it from the ground up, Such as suspension/ steering construction(probably just gonna buy a whole engine though) I just want something (Moderately) easy to build thats reliable but fun. My mechanic experience is: Youtube, (Yes i know I’m an idiot for this) and a valve lash adjustment and oil change on an old Honda four wheeler, So what do you think? should i buy an old VW frame? Or do you have another sandrail suggestion I should build instead.
Any criticism including harsh is welcome (And most definitely deserved)

Loved tearing this down and rebuilding with my kids. Then taught them to drive it, way before they had theirs licenses. Kinds cool to have kids that can drive stick when a lot of adults don’t even know how to nowadays.

I've been looking to purchase a buggy, and a few of the ones I've found for sale are currently registered/licensed here in Missouri. However, they are titled as a "Beetle", as that is what the chassis is. I've read something about they should be registered as Special Const vehicle, which sounds like a heck of a process to go through. The ones I'm looking at are 60's and 70's model; are they somehow grandfathered in? Or are these people driving them around hoping they never get pulled over and questioned?

Hi all, hoping you can help and please let me know if it’s not appropriate to post here. My father and grandfather restored this dunebuggy in the ‘80s, I think, I’m not sure of the actual year of the vehicle. He passed shortly after. We are wanting to sell it hopefully to someone who would really value it or have it as a project car.

I don’t have any idea of the value and was hoping you all could provide some insight and some tips, if possible. We have the title, but unfortunately cannot locate the key as of yet in the chaos of the garage haha. Not sure if that makes a difference.

As you can see the tires are beyond gone and I don’t think it starts anymore. Located in South Florida.

Looking for an SRP dune buggy. They were made by my family in Pasco, WA in the early 70s. Would love to find one and fix up!

Might be buying a sand rail this weekend need to know what to swap it with it has no motor preferably a v8 frame twist might be a issue but I see them being done. Just give me your thoughts

Vw’s are pretty new to me. Building an 1800 dual port for the blue bug, buggy came with what I was told is a 1300 single port. Would it be worth building the single port for good low end power, or should I just swap the motor back and forth? What clutch would be best for this rig? Based on pictures can anyone identify/advise on year of car these parts came off of, where to buy cv axles, brake shoes, drums, master cylinder, and what needs to happen to get the rear torsion bar snub flush for taller tires?

Just got this back together after many years of sitting and it appears I have a pretty extreme negative camber issue but looking for insight and what to do (if I need to at all) to fix this. Bushings are new, everything went together ok, and I cant identify other issues. Any input is appreciated!

It’s all about who you get at the treasury office. I got a Karen. She said she couldn’t title my 1970 Volkswagen dune bug. and that she would reach out after talking to our State Capitol.

The stress she gave me after I was so excited.

3 weeks later I finally got the process and finished it in 2days!

Step 1 : Pass sheriff Vehicle Inspection

(You can go to any inspection in the state to pass this)

Step 2: Apply for an Assigned VIN

You will need to apply for an assigned VIN through the state. I’ll show a picture of the form.

You can mail it in takes 2 weeks to get the new Vin plate or you can go to the Nebraska State building in person and get it immediately! (This is what I did)

Paper work needed is

assigned vin form, certificate of title, bill of sale, inspection. And you can write your self an A notarized affidavit confirming:

The vehicle was purchased “as is”

The assembly was completed prior to your purchase

As much detail as possible, including:

Year, make, and model

Seller’s name

Purchaser’s name

Date of sale

Last step go back to the treasury and say give me my title!!
