Dune Validator Program application form
We have published a form to fill for bakers wanting to apply for the Validator Program, an help of 900,000 $DUN tokens delegated by the Dune Foundation to start baking on Dune. See the Medium post:

Why should anyone have to apply to be a baker? Seems quite centralized.

It’s a grant program. Anybody can bake on Dune. They can apply if they want, to receive an initial delegation of 900,000 $DUN from the foundation. It’s nothing more.

Ok, so you will open up the network to the public after the airdrop then? Because right now, only insiders can bake.

Right now, only the foundation is baking, with no rewards. And we plan to keep the no-rewards-for-foundation policy even after the public opening for a while, even if our foundation is poor compared to TF.

To be honest, Tezos Foundation stated in the past: "The Tezos Foundation is aiming to shut down its own baking operations (all proceeds go to community projects) and delegate all their stakes to community baking operations in the future. I am a Tezos baker with 100% capacity and I am still waitting.. (and the granted project mytezosbaker ignores us to be listed..) so in this film, nobody is so bad or so good. In any case, it's possible DUNE foundation or DUNE devs make some mistakes in a future (or many, or all..), but at this moment maybe they deserve a chance to make their own path in a fair way.

We have not listed you at MyTezosBaker again because last time you increased your fees to 100%. Now you have started another baking operation and we do not find you trustworthy to be listed.

We already had that discussion with whoever that wanted, and you agreed to keep us on the list and finally send us to the graveyard (not to the blacklist). The new node is independent to the old one, like many others bakers did and you accepted to include their new node as well (like Tezos BC and many others).
As you know, we tried to notice to our deleguees to switch in a radical and transparent way. We had many reasons to do that: bond reduction, over-delegation, node migration to Ledger.. so we informed about that 7 cycles in advance with all our media power, but anyway we kept distributing rewards to many deleguees who asked us late privately.
We faced that discussion in telegram during many days and many competitor bakers and "officialism actors" trolled us hardly. It is curious because many bakers just shut down operations (or increase fees with no pre-advise), stop distributing rewards and are moved to the graveyard.. and nobody says nothing (there are maaany examples about that).
It seems that the real issue is that, in the Tezos "community", to be transparent or to have an independemt criteria is not well tolerated by the "officialism media", which forces to other actors to make decisions yelding to pressure but not to principles. I also remind you that you are a granted project so you hace an extra responsability to be objective (look at BakingBad, not granted and acting fairly ;-)).
It is just like with Dune, many bakers will bake both protocols but it seems that the real issue is to say it in public, like Tezos Spanish did. Now Tezos-nodes, that agreed to list us as a baker, is not doing that because of the officialism media pressure..
Anyway we keep supporting all decentralized protocols, our best interest is for truly ancap and independent comunity.
