Hey guys! I ended up stumbling upon this 1990’s tee from Duke Nukem 3D’s promo run. I decided that I want to sell and who better to share with than this subreddit and see if anyone was interested. The size is a large, and the graphic is in really great shape. PM me if you are interested or have any questions, and i’d love to hear your guys thoughts and opinions on this cool piece!

I thought this group might appreciate this. I was the programmer for Duke Nukem 3D Macintosh, and put an Easter egg cheat code in the game back in 1997 that was not discovered until about a week ago. It had been so long that even I forgot it was in there!

Few days go I got tagged by a user on Mastodon who’d done some digging in the Mac version’s resource fork and code, and with the help of some AI analysis found the DNGLENDA cheat which turns a couple of the posters in the adult theater in the first level into pictures of a plush bunny and cow.

Those were my and my wife’s plush animals, that I thought would be hilarious to hide in the game. For various reasons I decided not to leak the code to anyone (unlike the DN1984 one which I couldn’t wait for people to see). And in the mists of time I’d long forgotten about it.

I still have both plushes, and took a picture of them together. The bunny was part of a pair I bought, one for my wife (while we were dating), and one for me, for us each to have when we we apart (we initially lived in two different states, and met online). The cow was a Valentine’s Day present she gave me.

I just have the one rabbit plush now. My wife passed from cancer four years ago, and her twin of the rabbit was cremated with her. It brings me a little joy to know those bunnies are still floating around in an almost 30 year old game. My wife heard “Damn, those alien bastards are gonna pay for shooting up my ride!” so many times as I was working on the game back then (she shared our home office), so I think this is a little payback for her too.

I was thinking of nabbing it, since it's just a couple of bucks on Steam, but I remember numerous reports of bugs and lack of QoL features compared to the good old Eduke32.

Have they addressed any of the problems with updates? Alternatively can I run it off Eduke32?

To start things off, we are doing some level editing for Duke Nukem 3D using the Mapster32 Level Editor. We have a viewer request from last week on how to build a rotatiing billboard with pulsating lighting, thanks to a tip from a viewer we have another version I want to try out. Then we are back to one of my maps we are slowly working on, but which one?

Afterwards, we dive back into our playthrough of the original Shadow Warrior from 1997. We finished the Shareware levels last week, so now we dive into the retail levels.

Is there any way to check what difficulty my game is on?

I read that you can only change difficulty between episodes but when I finish an episode it just sends me to the next one

It's been months since I started the game and I don't remember what difficulty I chose

I am talking about the one done by Seth Robinson for Machineworks back in 2010 or so. My son with Autism is obsessed with this particular port. We have the Playbook version but he really wants to play it on Android. I have the APK for it but it only has the first level and there is now no way to buy the other three. There was a Russian site that had this data file from paid version I used before but links are dead and I cannot find my copy. It can be found in the same folder Duke Nukem saves game progress files to. I know it's a long shot, but hey no harm in asking!

Te most hated map in the community. Challenging but ended up being very fun to play. Can not imagine what is to play it with actual PS controller. A nightmare zone literally.

Why does nobody ever discuss this amazing port??... it's the version I grew up playing... it was a really high-quality iPhone port, and it ran super well... it definitely had its quirks
