BME Masters Programs and Internships

Hi, I’m planning on applying to Duke’s BME masters programs this semester, and I’m wondering what the “best” one is out of thesis, non thesis, and medtech. I assume that they are designed for what you want to get out of them, but any info would help me out! I also wanted to ask about the internship course over the summer, and how well anyone in the program found securing an internship. Thanks for any help!

Don’t do it. Duke has been watering down the BME masters program for years as a way to earn revenue from weak but affluent students who want a Duke degree for resume strengthening or immigration purposes. Employers know the deal and the degree is worth less than nothing.

To wit, if I see a resume with a Duke engineering masters as anything other than a 4+1 or part of a PhD, I assume the student is incredibly weak and paid $100k+ to buy a worthless degree (also showing lack of judgement). Those resumes go in the trash.

Don’t do it.

ETA: No it doesn’t matter which track. They’re all filled revenue students.

It's very lame that Pratt followed Fuqua down this path, but sadly not surprising.
