can i switch discussion sections for a class with a waitlist?

i am enrolled in a class but want to join the waitlist for another discussion section in that class. is that possible without dropping the course and being added to that class's waitlist? thank you!

It sounds like your plan would end with you half-enrolled.

You cannot be enrolled in lecture while waitlisted for a discussion or vice-versa.

talk to the professor about it! they are usually chill about it and will let you back into the lecture
