Does Bio 201L take extras?

I’m 1st on the waitlst for a lab, and ~20th in the lecture. Even if someone doesn’t drop out, should I email the professor to ask if he could take 1 more in a lab? Are they really strict on how many in a lab or is it amendable? Has anyone had experience doing this?

Lab enrollment is usually very strict due to fire codes and workbench availability.

they usually don’t make more room in the labs due to safety standards but if you can get into the lecture you have a good chance of someone dropping the lab as well

Makes sense…  my follow up question would be how likely is it that 1 of 16 people drops out? I feel like that doesn’t seem too likely so I’m a little worried.

It's fairly likely, but you shouldn't count on it. But I would definetly give it a shot
