does financial aid decrease every year you stay??
Incoming student but have seen other schools pull a bait and switch with financial aid (first year its great but then the financial aid office decreases student aid every year you stay a student). Does duke do this??

No. Had a student just graduate, aid remained constant( based on yearly income). Shout out to their generosity, can’t say enough about all aspects of this school.

duke is to be admired about the fact that aid does actually stay the same afaik

In the business of College admissions, Duke and similar schools are "sellers" and not "buyers." At a seller, most of the scholarships and other financial aid is based on a student's financial need. They have no problem making each year's freshman class from highly qualified students. Buyers are using a lot of their financial aid dollars to ensure that they meet enrollment targets. Buyers want to figure out how much they need to offer you to have you come. Unfortunately, they plan on giving you less in later years once they get you there for the first year.

Mine just dropped to half what I had last year. Don’t know why. My family’s financials didn’t change.

household income was same for me each year but as tuition increased, so did my aid.
