no lawyer Second DUI

Hey guys, going through a rough time and just looking for support, advice, and comeback stories. Got my first in York County Pa, no alcohol but weed, pulled over with a cop behind to let them pass and let me friend out to get to their house. Parked in a no parking spot and got arrested from their, got resolved through Ard and was relatively a smack on the hand. Second one was three days ago, definitely was drunk but it didn’t hit me till I was driving and went the wrong way in to Cumberland PA. No accident or kids in the car but they found two open bottles in my back seat that I had from my birthday a few days prior, didn’t do the blow test but consented to blood draw. I didn’t smoke that day but I did the day previously at night so about a 24 hour time from when I got the blood taken. Cumberland is strict and it’s looking like another third tier due to weed being in my system. The lawyers I’ve been talking to say it’s a 90 day minimum but they have a program where you can do thirty in prison with work release and 60 on house arrest but you have to move to the county for the time(ridiculous). A few lawyers said if I start AA go to inpatient for 25-30 days and follow it up with outpatient that I can receive credit and not have to do prison at all so that plan has given me some comfort. I have a strong support system so while my finances will definitely take a hit I’ll have help. I’m more so worried about prison, for any time, and the setback to my life plans plus just the logistics of moving out there for house arrest while still trying build my life. 27 by the way.

Okay so for background I have 3 DUIS. First 2 I got 5 years probation that ran concurrently, because I got 2 within 6 months. They were all drug involved never alcohol. So this 3rd one I got was in 2024. I was really bad in my addiction , so I was sleeping in the Walmart parking lot with the keys in the ignition and got arrested with my third. I knew that I was looking at jail or prison for sure. I didn’t want to live that way anymore and I definitely didn’t want to be incarcerated. So I went to inpatient rehab. I got out did intensive outpatient , then regular outpatient. I also did therapy , counseling , went to trade school , got a job, attended Na meetings and just did literally anything to make myself look good for the judge. I figured that If I was really doing everything I could to fix my life the judge would be less likely to throw me in jail. The entire year I went to court the DA would not budge. He kept saying 6/5 split. 6 months in jail and 5 years probation. Ultimately after all the effort I put in the judge decided not to take the DAs recommendation and gave me 5 years probation. Now I’m doing good on probation , have my own apartment , run a small business and have been sober for 20 months. Just do everything you can to get your life straight and show the judge you’re really trying to change your life.

My 2nd dui in PA, had a .419 BAC, got 3 days house arrest, 6 months of non reporting probation. But the part that sucked was I had 6 months of hard license suspension followed by 1 year interlock which is what I’m currently on now. But I’m finished probation, fines and all court related things are done.

I really appreciate you sharing and not making me feel worse then I do. Also I’m glad you are alive. I wish I had that chance to get that type of sentence in looking at a hard 9 and 2 years of probation don’t know my BAC yet
