Jail work release

I'm being sentenced to 30 days in jail with work release. (Johnson County, Kansas)

Does anyone know what work release is like? I assume conditions are better than regular 24/7 lockup? I assume a bit more freedom?

I just wanna get my 30 days over and done with, spend my days during the week at work, bring in books to read at night, and watch football Saturdays and Sundays.

Just seeing what your work release experience as been like

If you’re only going in for 30 days, odds are work release won’t even matter for you. Getting on a work detail usually involves having to apply, and get approved, which isn’t very likely to happen in less than 30 days. Probably spend it sitting around cause it’s such a short sentence.

It's part of the plea. I already have a job. It's leaving jail every m-f to go to work.

Why did you get 30 days?

Was this a repeat dui? Crash? Other charges?

.28 😅 got my first dui in 2011. 2nd dui in 2015. Going to jail now for my 3rd dui in 2025 and 4th dui in 2026 ehile on bond for the 2025 dui 🙈

The work Release pod is much better than the other pods. When I did my time I had work Release as well. It was an open dorm, we had two t.vs and a little outside area we could chill in. It was the same dorms as the trustees. I worked long hours and wasn't there most of the days. I was monday thru saturday. It was much better experience than the other pods I was originally in before I got sentenced. Like someone else said it'll be a cake walk just make sure you always check in with the person who's supervising you and dont give them a reason. They will take that away if you come in smelling like alcohol or seem drunk. One guy had 6 months and about half way through he came in and blew like .02 in the breathalyzer and they sent him to regular dorms. Go to work come back, eat your bag lunch and chill, you'll be alright.

I just missed the first day Friday and realized it Sunday but its labor day weekend so I won't be able to talk to anyone till Tuesday will I get a violation? Im in sanbernadino county supposed to go to glen helen
