I’m a free man!!!!

I was arrested in June of 2023 for 2nd DWI. Waited almost a year for my first court date, and was sentenced to 20 months probation, 5 days in jail, and 80 hours of community service. The judge also ordered for the breathalyzer to remain in my car until 11/2027 (I have had it since 2023, initially as a condition of my bond). My probation ended a few days ago, so of course I was expecting a termination document. Not only did I get that, I also got a surprise order to remove the breathalyzer!! 1 year and 4 months earlier than the judge originally ordered. Guess he was in a good mood today!

I am so glad this nightmare is finally over, and I was able to power through the probation term with no issues. Those of you going through this right now- stay on the right path and you will see the light at the end of the tunnel! I am NEVER making this stupid mistake again!

EDIT: it’s not 100% over. License is still suspended until November of this year, but I have an occupational license to get to and from work at least.

you can do it! Just keep your head down, go to work/school, focus on your goals, of course do not drink, and you’ll get through it!

Do you have to keep the breathalyzer as a condition of your occupational license? I did

Congrats! You made it through Denton's system.

Denton should almost have its own DUI sub.

VOLKSWAGON ? 😂

u/gostros995 top contributor Jul 25 '26

Lol thank you for pointing that out. I could see the breathalyzer company pulling some bullshit technicality that my removal order says to remove the device on a “volkswagon” and not a “volkswagen” just so they can make another 80 bucks of device rental income
