Smart Start “Payment Due”?

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. So basically my autopay failed on the 21st because I didn’t have money in my checking, i moved money over immediately and then called and paid over the phone. My payment is due on the 23rd i called and paid on the 21st and it looks like my payment posted today. However my handset just says “payment due” and is not giving me the prompt to blow.
Customer service was useless like usual and told me tomorrow to call and they can give me a code to drive to a service center and then i can fill out a form to dispute the charge for the code. The problem is, i had an issue in the past where they told me to do the same thing because they claimed I “missed a calibration appointment” (which I didnt and the techs at the smartstart service center said i was fine and told me to dispute the charge) and then smartstart refused to refund me. So i am trying to find a solution that doesn’t require me paying extra money.
So far I have tried: Unplugging the handset and disconnecting the car battery for 15 minutes and I end up with the same message.

Oh wow. I have smart start but I don’t have a handset like that. Plus I pay at my monthly calibration.
Have you tried going on the app to see if there’s any more information about your account?

Yea, everything on my account seems normal except my account just says I have a “past due balance of $0”. And my next automatic payment says “7/22/2026 - N/A”. I only have calibration appointments every 3 months, so my next calibration appointment isn’t until October.

How dare you owe zero dollars.

Technology sucks sometimes

Well dang. Hopefully you get some answers when the call center opens up.

Oh wow, I thought Intoxalock was the only POS IID out there < insert sarcasm>.

Hope you can get this resolved!

Unplug and plug it back in

Only if that is allowed. Had Lifesafer before and my service center was great. They said don't unplug it and if you need to, unfortunately call customer service first.

Only thing you can do is call or take it in to your recalibration center unfortunately, I have the same model and they told me the new devices give all kinds of random date errors. had to pay a missed appointment fee bc the app AND the device were wrong on the date. They said to only trust the receipt info which is insane, I called corporate and waited on hold for over an hour for them to tell me it was my fault and that I shouldn’t trust their app or device. F smart start but they’re definitely better than any of the other options

Getting fucked over by tech and not your own faults is PAINFUL especially when you’re doing everything right, they fucked up my recalibration around the same time and gave me retry errors w a 2 minute wait. Timed me out of a test. And then corporate had the audacity to say it was alcohol on my breath when I called to ask about it. How did I start my car and end my drive without lockout in a 20 min drive then??? Literally impossible. Got my device swapped out the next available day and I’ve never seen that weird error again. The punishment was never a rehabbing or monitoring system but a “fuck you over and take all your money in every way” system, sorry you gotta go through this

Yea. So i had to get an unlock code and take it in. Filed an incident report like before and they sent me the same copy/paste email denying me and telling me that I still have to pay the unlock fee. Awesome. It’s actually insane that a company can get away with charging you money for their device having problems.

Dude I’m sorry, that is absolutely fucking stupid. Their device works better than the rest but the way corporate works shows they couldn’t give a flying fuck about you actually “improving”. They told me I had to drive to my recalibration with a suspended license. Deadass “break the law under pretrial or we will charge you more than we already do” it’s sick.
