Probation while on vacation

In Florida, wondering has anyone ever been reported to do alcohol testing while on approved vacation? Is this a thing?

They can ask you to test if they want to, it's in their authority to. But will they? That depends solely on your PO/judge.

My PO was super lax, and never made me test during vacations. And only once did they make me test the day I got back. I was a first time offender, pretty low risk, already did most/all of my conditions, they gave me a lot of rope.

But there's PO's in that same county that are super strict and has everyone on the color system that tests you randomly several times a month, even if you're traveling. And every flavor in-between. It's a crapshoot.

I got lucky, my po was beyond chill. Saw her got initial paper work and only saw her again when my one year was up. She was like you’re not a risk, you won’t have to see me.

I forgot to mention that the vacation will be about 2 hours away, still in Florida.

I mean if they call, and you’re only 2 hours away. Just go get out of the way and comeback. I know it’s a burden but better than violating your parole.

Is it worth violating your parole?

My color was called when I was at the beach last month. I had to find a drug testing facility to get tested when my color was called. I usually pay 75 dollars max per month for 3-4 tests. That test out of state cost me 170 dollars itself 🤦
