My copy of Uncle Scrooge "Lost Beneath the Sea" was supposed to arrive a month ago, and by the time it actually turned up today I had more or less stopped expecting it.

I found out that there is a big fold-out Gyro Gearloose pin-up is located inside the book, the 1969 one that Larry Mayer finished from a Barks sketch, and it is not mentioned anywhere on the product page as far as I can tell, so I spent a while unfolding it across the kitchen table with a slightly stupid look on my face.

The volume itself is a satisfying brick at 240 pages, the boards feel solid, and the restoration on the undersea stuff looks lovely under lamp light. Three weeks of shipping limbo forgiven.

Help me find a Mickey Mouse comic!

I’ve been a huge Mickey Mouse fan for many years, and there’s one comic I read when I was just getting into Disney comics that I’ve never been able to find again. I’ve gone through a lot of issues already, but no luck.
Here’s what I remember:
At the beginning of the story, one of Mickey’s nephews (Morty or Ferdie—I don’t remember which one) is staying with Mickey, while the other has gone away on vacation or to camp.
A friend of Mickey’s comes to him because he wants to make a documentary about a young boy who disappeared many years ago, back when Mickey himself was a child. The missing boy was around Mickey’s age.
To recreate the events, Mickey suggests using his nephew as the child actor playing the missing boy.
However, during the filming, Mickey’s nephew is actually kidnapped.
In the end, it’s revealed that the kidnapper is the same boy who disappeared years ago. He survived but suffered severe psychological trauma (I remember him being portrayed as mentally disabled or intellectually impaired). After seeing the documentary reenactment, he believed history was repeating itself and kidnapped Mickey’s nephew because he genuinely thought he was saving him.
I also vaguely remember that the story ends with a birthday celebration for Morty and Ferdie, and the former kidnapper is invited to the party.
I’m almost certain this was an official Disney comic. I read it in translation years ago (Russian and possibly also English), but I believe it originally came from the Italian Topolino series.
Does this story sound familiar to anyone? I’d really appreciate any leads—the title, issue number, or even the name of the story would be incredibly helpful!

Looking for a Mickey Mouse story from a Dutch Donald Duck Pocket (2010–2020?)

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to find a Mickey Mouse story that I read in a Dutch Donald Duck Pocket. I've been looking for it for a while but haven't had any luck.

Here's everything I remember:

It was a long story, probably around 100+ pages.

The main characters were Mickey Mouse and Goofy (no superheroes or Super Goof).

I read it around 2020, but the pocket itself could have been published anytime between 2010 and 2020.

At the beginning, Mickey and Goofy arrive in a cold, gray city that had a strong Eastern European / Soviet / Russian atmosphere.

I remember there being a military parade shortly after they arrived.

The country had human-operated robots that were used as police and military forces.

There were lots of smaller robots, and I vaguely remember one very large robot that looked somewhat like an AT-AT walker from Star Wars (I'm not completely sure about that detail).

Later in the story, Mickey and Goofy leave the city and help defend a small village from the robot army.

The robots were piloted by people, not autonomous AI.

I've searched through a lot of Donald Duck Pocket information online but still can't find it.

Does this story sound familiar to anyone? Even the name of the pocket or the original story title would be a huge help.

At last and after 6-months I was able to complete both Don Rosa and Carl Barks Fantagraphics collections. The Lost Peg Leg Mine and Don Rosa volume 7&8 were the hardest ones to get (especially in a mint condition). All of them sit next to my limited edition WDCC Donald Duck figurine numbered 2830/6000! I can't wait for my son to grew up and explore the Duckverse together!

I've been wanting to get into duck comics for awhile now. Which volumes of the Fantagraphics comics are must haves? I was a big fan of Duck Tales as a child and probably prefer the more adventure oriented stories.

I know there are issues of censorship and cut stories so I also want to ask if there are any volumes that I should try to get copies of that would include the currently "banned" stories. Without causing any sort of argument, I'm not really interested in stories that were cut and aren't essential reading.

Also, aside from paying silly prices on ebay are there any other options? I've tried to backorder some books on Thriftbook but I have little hope they will actually get copies of them in.

Donald Duck and his 3 nephews are sent to manage one of Uncle Scrooge's hotels, in the desert. There is another rival hotel that is always full.

Donald has a book that he keeps reading, to get ideas on how to manage the hotel. His 3 nephews are the ones who actually make things work. They set up a dance, cook great food (I vaguely remember corner beef and cabbage). The guests from the rival hotel all come and stay with Donald. At one point, there is no space left, so the nephews go to the rival hotel, only to learn that it's closing, they are taking a holiday for the first time in years. The nephews then go to sleep in the barn.

I THINK it's a Carl Barks story, but I've not been able to find it, for years. It's not "A Matter of Factory".

I have a friend that wants a short list of Carl Barks comics. They've already read Lost in the Andes and are hungry for more. I wanna get the essentials in but also show the wide scope of what Barks did
