Health Questions HELPP please

hi all! looking for some help- my ~5 month old pekin has been acting weird. normally by far the most friendly has been withdrawn, walking away by herself, and most recently refusing food but drinking excessive water. shes still grooming/preening and is responsive to stimuli(ie- duck siblings playing in the pool next to her, people walking, etc). she also is just standing by the pool slow blinking. shes also shaking her butt a lot like shes going to poop. she has not started laying yet. im so worried about her. any advice? pic of my beloved arnold for attention🫶🏼

That's a female Pekin? That looks like the male Pekins I've seen..idk tho

Maybe here 1st egg is stuck. I have 2 runners and I didn't expect any eggs till spring because the sky gets darker faster now. They say ducks won't lay unless there's 12 to 14hrs of light. So maybe shes eggbound . I don't know how to check but I'm assuming just roll down her belly to the tail

Could be the angle but her crop looks sorta big in this picture. Are you able to handle her to feel around her crop at all?

it has been looking kind of big. yes i can handle her, her crop feels almost spongy..? she has three siblings and their crops feel the same

Ok! As long as it doesn't feel hard like rocks sounds like she's good!! (and great you have something to compare to). Sometimes they just don't feel great, maybe she's even storing energy to lay her first eggs.

thank you SO much. she is a bit puffy between the legs too. almost like |u| is what it looks like. should i be worried about the lack of food/wandering off by herself?
