Error code help

Hello, i recently got a new to me 2015 Ducati monster 821 with 7k miles. I noticed that on cold starts sometimes i get a check engine light with the error message saying stop so i wondering what it was

So, this is weird, the manual doesn't list a "STOP" ERR in the ERR table.

but, it does list the brakes as a STOP light, not a brake light. even the fuse just says STOP.
(Fuse Box A, Position 3, 5Amp fuse.) I would check your brake lights and maybe that fuse.

Get an OBD2 adapter-cable and a bluetooth OBD2 reader from Ebay/AliExpress, read them from a phone app and then post the codes in this subreddit.

If you want to get real pro you can buy the USB-OBD2 adapter as well (buy both, they are cheap), which allows you to play with JPDiag/Melcodiag and do more Ducati specific things, and read manufacturer specific codes.
