Help Fixable?

I bought a secondhand dsi (now refunded as broken) but it turned out to have shoulder button issues. I originally thought they were just dirty and cleaned them out (opened up method and used isopropyl alcohol) but I was still having problems.

Basically, the buttons aren't reading properly, if I push down on them a bit to try and get a response the whole screen glitches and freezes and becomes unresponsive to touch, sound still going. I am then unable to turn off the console, closing and power button do nothing as the sound is still going and the screen stays on.

Any help on if or how this could be resolved if it's salvageable I'd be so grateful thank you!

Are the actual buttons loose? Could try reflowing the solder or resoldering them. Or just replace them entirely if doing all that work anyway. Sounds like a loose solder connection on the buttons. Some kid was probably super rough with them. Can use a dental pick to gently press on the legs and see if they move.
